Driver Runs Red Light to Evade Police, Causes Deadly Accident on Manchester Avenue

 
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (August 22, 2022) – Two people were killed in a multi-vehicle accident on West Manchester Avenue in South Los Angeles early Friday morning, August 19.
 
The fatal accident happened around 4:15 a.m. at Broadway Street. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a Cadillac was traveling in the area when officers tried to stop it for speeding.
 
The driver failed to yield, ran a red light at Broadway Street and broadsided a BMW. The initial crash damaged a truck and another vehicle.
 
Two occupants in the BMW, a man and a woman, both died at the scene.
 
A third person sustained unspecified injuries.
 
Police arrested the driver of the Cadillac, a man in his 20s, and two young men in the car with him. They took all three suspects into custody after trying to run from the crash scene.
 
An investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing.
