Multi-Vehicle Accident on Avenue 15 in Madera County Kills Two Drivers

 
MADERA COUNTY, CA (May 5, 2021) – Two people died Wednesday afternoon after a multi-vehicle accident at Avenue 15 and Road 37.
 
The accident happened around 2:15 p.m. on May 5. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota Camry was traveling on Avenue 15 when it drifted into the opposite lane and crashed into a Dodge pickup truck. It also collided into a Chevrolet Malibu.
 
As a result, the drivers of the Camry and the Malibu both died at the scene. Their identities were withheld pending notification of their family members.
 
The condition of the third driver was not immediately known.
 
Crews closed the Avenue 15 for more than an hour while they cleared the wreckage.
 
CHP officials are still trying to determine the ultimate cause of the crash and factors involved.
