Man and Woman Die in Yuba County Motorcycle Accident on Plumas Arboga Road

 
YUBA COUNTY, CA (April 19, 2021) – Two people died in a motorcycle accident on Plumas Arboga Road in Yuba County Thursday afternoon, April 15.
 
The fatal crash happened around 4:03 p.m. just south of Forty Mile Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 66-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman, both of Sacramento, were traveling northbound on a Harley Davidson motorcycle.
 
At the same time, 60-year-old Samuel Hubbard of Plumas Lake was driving a Chevrolet 2500 westbound on Forty Mile Road when he came to a stop sign. After looking both ways and not seeing any oncoming traffic, he pulled into the intersection, when he suddenly observed the motorcycle approaching.
 
The rider reportedly applied his brakes and veered to the left but was unable to avoid Hubbard’s vehicle. Both vehicles collided within the intersection. The impact ejected the man and his female passenger from the motorcycle.
 
As a result, the two suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Hubbard was unharmed.

CHP does not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision, and no arrests were made. Further investigation is underway.
