Two Die in Redding High-Speed Accident on 5 Freeway
REDDING, CA (March 19, 2021) — Two people were killed in a high-speed accident on the 5 Freeway near Knighton Road early Wednesday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened around 4:15 a.m. Upon responding, officials found a 25-year-old female passenger and a 40-year-old male driver deceased at the scene. Their identities have not been released at this time.
For unknown reasons, the 2006 Toyota, occupied by the Anderson residents, veered off the 5 Freeway at a high rate of speed and struck a tree.
