Afternoon Head-On Crash on 27th Avenue in Kings County Leaves 2 People Dead

 
KINGS COUNTY, CA (January 30, 2023) – Two people were killed in a head-on crash at 27th Avenue and Elder Avenue in Kings County on Saturday afternoon.
 
The fatal crash happened around 3:30 p.m. on January 28. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Honda van was traveling eastbound and approached the front of a Hyundai sedan going the opposite way. One of the vehicles crossed the center line and collided head-on with the other. The impact caused the Hyundai to catch fire.
 
Both drivers of the vehicles suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. They were not yet identified.
 
The cause and factors of the crash remain under investigation.
