The accident happened around 1:00 a.m. at Linwood Street. According to the Visalia Police Department, a white 2005 Infiniti G35 was traveling westbound on Walnut when it veered off the roadway for unknown reasons. It then crashed into a power pole and caught fire.

The crash also caused a power outage in the area. Edison responded to the scene and worked on restoring power to some residents.

Speed is a factor in the crash, according to investigators. Police could use autopsy and medical records to check if alcohol or drugs also played a role.
