Head-On Crash on Highway 132 in San Joaquin County Kills 2 Passengers, Both Drivers Suspected of DUI

 
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA (April 11, 2023) – Two people were killed in a DUI head-on crash on Highway 132 in San Joaquin County Sunday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened on April 9, just east of Koster Road and southeast of Tracy. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2018 Mercedes was traveling the wrong way on the highway when it crashed head-on into a 2016 Kia.
 
Two passengers in the Kia, both from Modesto, died at the scene.
 
Both drivers suffered major injuries. Police identified the wrong-way driver as a 28-year-old San Leandro man.
 
Officers said both drivers will be arrested on suspicion of DUI once released from the hospital. Further investigation is underway.
