Crash Involving Big Rig on East North Avenue in Fresno County Kills Man and Woman

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (December 12, 2022) – Two people died in a big rig accident at East North Avenue and De Wolf Avenue in Fresno County on Saturday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 1:30 p.m. on December 10. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Freightliner was traveling east on North Avenue and a Nissan Altima was stopped at the stop sign for Dewolf.
 
For unknown reasons, the driver of the Altima edged out into the intersection and then right in front of the Freightliner. The vehicles then collided at the intersection.
 
As a result of the crash, a man and a woman inside the Altima both died at the scene. They were not yet identified. Authorities said both were in their 20s.
 
The driver of the truck was shaken up but not injured. They stayed on scene and cooperate with authorities.
 
CHP officials said they do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, which remains under investigation.
