Carlotta Rear-End Accident on Highway 36 Involves Deer

 
CARLOTTA, CA (October 14, 2021) – Two people sustained injuries in a rear-end accident on Highway 36 in Carlotta Tuesday evening.
 
The accident happened around 7:15 p.m. on October 12, just west of the Carlotta Post Office. According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle struck a deer in the area. A second vehicle then rear-ended the first.
 
The deer fled the scene after it was hit, unknown if it was injured.
 
Meanwhile, a ground ambulance took two patients to a hospital, one with moderate and one with minor injuries.
 
As of 8:50 p.m., traffic was moving slowly through the area.
 
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash and factors involved.
