Two Hurt after Car Accident on Mariposa Road near Eucalyptus Street

 
HESPERIA, CA (January 3, 2022) — Two suffered injuries following a car crash on Mariposa Road on Thursday, December 30.
 
The incident at around 5:40 p.m. on Mariposa Road near the S curve near Eucalyptus Street.
 
The crash involved two vehicles — a 2004 GMC Yukon and a black 2021 Hyundai Elantra. Both vehicles had major damage.
 
The Victorville Fire Department rushed to the area and found one person trapped with major injuries. A second person had moderate injuries. It took around 20 minutes for firefighters to extricate the trapped occupant.
 
Medics asked for a medical helicopter to transport the critically injured person to a trauma center. However, due to poor visibility and rain, two helicopters near the area were unable to help.
 
The Victorville Police Department continues to determine the cause of the collision.
