Two Suffers Injuries after Car Crashes Off Cliff on Sweeney Road in Lompoc

 
LOMPOC, CA (January 11, 2022) – Two people were injured in a car accident on Sweeney Road in Lompoc on Sunday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 4:37 p.m. on January 9, in the 2000 block of Sweeney Road near Highway 246. According to the California Highway Patrol, a GMC pickup truck fell off a 75-foot cliff for unknown reasons.
 
Santa Barbara County Fire crews extricated two people from the vehicle and airlifted them to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara.
 
Fire authorities said one patient suffered major injuries and the other had critical injuries.
 
At this time, the cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
