NEWHALL, CA (July 27, 2022) – Two people were taken to a hospital after a train accident on Pine Street in Newhall on Monday, July 25.
 
The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. on the railroad tracks near the 24100 block of Pine Street and Railroad Avenue. According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, a Metrolink train struck a black Honda Accord, pushing it through a fence.
 
Responding paramedics took the driver and passenger of the car to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
Train tracks have been shut down temporarily after the crash.
 
At this time, an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
