Rear-End Accident near Sunset Cliffs and Nimitz Boulevards, 2 People Hospitalized

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 27, 2022) – Two people were hospitalized in rear-end accident near Sunset Cliffs Boulevard and Nimitz Boulevard on Wednesday evening.
 
The accident happened around 9:50 p.m. on June 22. According to the San Diego Police Department, a 26-year-old woman in a 2015 Kia Sol did not see a 2008 Nissan Altima stopped at the stop light when she rear-ended it.
 
As a result, a 25-year-old passenger in the Kia sustained a spinal fracture while reporting no feeling in his legs. That patient was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The 40-year-old woman driving the Nissan had complaints of head pain.
 
Both patients were taken to a hospital for treatment.
 
Authorities said alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
