REDDING, CA (March 7, 2022) – Paramedics transported two people to the hospital following a Caltrans truck accident on northbound 5 Freeway on March 1.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Hilltop Drive just before 1:00 PM.
 
Based on a report, a box truck was traveling in the right lane at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, the driver hit the back of the Caltrans truck.
 
As a result, two Caltrans workers, a 25-year-old man from Anderson and a 66-year-old man from Bella Vista, sustained injuries in the incident. Paramedics transported the victims to a local hospital with major injuries.
 
In addition, the crash also closed the #2 lane for several hours.
