Christmas Day Head-On Accident on Highway 138 in Hesperia Leaves 2 in Critical Condition

 
HESPERIA, CA (January 3, 2022) – Two people suffered critical injuries on Christmas morning after a head-on accident on Highway 138 in Hesperia.
 
The accident happened around 7:15 a.m., just between Coriander Drive and Summit Post Office Road. According to the CHP, a silver Dodge Avenger and black Honda Accord collided head-on for unknown reasons.
 
San Bernardino County Fire immediately responded and located both cars with major front-end damage. Fire crews also found two people with critical injuries, one of them would require extrication.
 
A Mercy Air helicopter landed at the scene and airlifted one of the injured male drivers to a trauma center. A ground ambulance transported the other male driver to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
 
At this time, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
