Car Accident on Lakeshore Drive in Lake Elsinore Leaves 2 in Critical Condition

 
LAKE ELSINORE, CA (May 12, 2021) – Two people sustained critical injuries early Tuesday morning after a car accident on Lakeshore Drive in Lake Elsinore.
 
The accident happened around 2:37 a.m. on May 10 near Diamond Drive. According to the Riverside County Fire Department, a vehicle had crashed for unknown reasons, ejecting at least one person.
 
Responding firefighters found four patients, two of them had critical injuries.
 
A helicopter was called to the scene for one of the critically injured patients, and the other was taken to hospital by ambulance. Paramedics treated two people on scene for minor injuries. Both declined further treatment, the department said.
 
It is unknown at this time what led to the crash. Further investigation is underway.
