Carjacking Suspects Involved in Accident on Laurel Road at Hillcrest Avenue in Cupertino

 
CUPERTINO, CA (March 7, 2022) – Police arrested two carjacking suspects following an accident on Laurel Road on March 1.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Hillcrest Avenue around 12:23 AM.
 
Based on a report, Antioch police learned about an armed robbery and carjacking incident. Then, the said officers found and tried to stop a vehicle with information on the suspects. Suddenly, the driver fled the stop at high speed, leading officers on a two-mile pursuit. Subsequently, it collided with another car.
 
As a result, the driver of the second vehicle, a 58-year-old Sacramento man, suffered minor injuries. The suspect driver and a 22-year-old passenger sustained major and minor injuries.
 
Later on, officers arrested both the suspect driver and the passenger on charges of armed robbery, carjacking and conspiracy.
 
At this point, an investigation is still ongoing.
