Troy Lohuis Dies in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Highway 99 near Martin Luther King Boulevard

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (July 30, 2021) — Troy Lohuis died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Highway 99 near Martin Luther King Boulevard Monday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal hit-and-run occurred around 8:51 p.m. Under vague circumstances, a driver in a possible 2015 to 2018 Ford F-150 model struck 47-year-old Troy Jacob Lohuis. Subsequently, the driver left the scene, leaving the Caltrans worker with fatal injuries.
 
Soon after, authorities responded to the scene to investigate. Per reports, the incident happened as Lohuis was setting up construction work zone signs saying, “Lane closed ahead.”
