SEAL BEACH, CA (August 12, 2021) — A multi-vehicle collision on 22 Freeway happened in the area of Seal Beach Thursday morning, August 5.
 
Based on initial reports, the accident took place past 9 a.m The California Highway Patrol said five SUVs blocked the left two lanes of the westbound 22 Freeway. A sixth vehicle, identified as a Chevy Silverado, was stalled on the right-hand side of the roadway.
 
There were no immediate reports of injuries following the crash. However, the collision resulted in a slowdown of traffic on the 405 and 605 freeways.
 
Meanwhile, the CHP issued a SigAlert for the closure of the westbound 22 Freeway, including the HOV lane and number 1 lane, east of Valley View Street in Garden Grove. All lanes reopened at about 10 a.m. on Thursday.
