RIVERSIDE, CA (May 23, 2022) — A toddler was run over and killed by a car on Gentian Avenue near Russel Avenue on Wednesday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal incident happened around 12:30 p.m. Police stated that when the boy’s father pulled into his home in a white Chevy Tahoe, he waited for the driveway gate to open.
 
As he proceeded forward, he noticed a slight bump when he drove onto the property. Upon exiting his vehicle, the man found his son underneath the truck.
 
Soon after, authorities and paramedics responded to the scene and quickly rushed the child to Riverside University Health System Medical Center by ambulance with critical injuries. However, despite life-saving efforts, the unidentified child succumbed to his injuries.
 
In addition, paramedics brought the father to a hospital due to stress.
