Timoteo Fernandez-Ortiz Dies in Pedestrian Crash on 680 Freeway near Treat Boulevard

 
WALNUT CREEK, CA (February 17, 2023) — Timoteo Fernandez-Ortiz died in a pedestrian accident on the 680 Freeway near Treat Boulevard Thursday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly pedestrian crash happened around 4:30 a.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver of a Toyota Corolla struck 56-year-old Timoteo Fernandez-Ortiz within the lanes of traffic. According to witnesses, a second vehicle might have been involved in the crash.
 
Following the impact, the driver pulled over and waited for authorities to arrive. Fernandez-Ortiz, of Pittsburg, however, suffered fatal injuries in the accident.
