Three Men Hurt in Wynola Two-Car Accident near Springview Road
WYNOLA, CA (April 16, 2021) — Three men suffered minor to major injuries in a two-car accident near Springview Road and Highway 79 Thursday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-car collision happened around 8:15 a.m. For unknown reasons, a 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck veered from the westbound lanes and slammed into an oncoming 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe.
As a result of the impact, the Tahoe careered off the road, traveled down an embankment and struck a tree. Meanwhile, the Chevrolet pickup spun out and came to a stop in the eastbound lane.
Soon after, paramedics airlifted the pickup truck driver — a 71-year-old from Julian — to Palomar Medical Center with major head trauma. Another crew treated the 63-year-old Temecula man driving the SUV and his 62-year-old passenger from Carlsbad at the scene for minor injuries.
At this time, the CHP has ruled out intoxication as a factor. However, if anyone has more information on this accident, please contact the CHP.
A car accident can happen to anyone at any time. Therefore, it’s critical for drivers to be wary of their surroundings. Practicing responsible and defensive driving can reduce the threat on the road.
