Multi-Vehicle Accident on Ramona Boulevard in Baldwin Park Leaves 1 in Critical Condition
BALDWIN PARK, CA (May 17, 2022) – Three people were injured in a multi-vehicle accident on Ramona Boulevard in Baldwin Park on Friday night, May 6.
The accident happened shortly after 6:00 p.m., at the intersection with Downing Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a bus and two other vehicles collided for unknown reasons.
The impact of the collision caused debris from the wreckage to go flying onto the nearby train tracks.
When officers arrived, they located a Metrolink train stopped at the tracks. A city bus had its windshield shattered on the driver’s side.
Paramedics transported three people to a hospital, one with critical injuries and has a head trauma. The other two patients had minor to moderate injuries.
Crews closed the area of Ramona Boulevard and Downing Avenue while they cleared the wreckage. They advised motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
