Driver Arrested in Police Pursuit Accident on Sunset Boulevard and Van Ness Avenue

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 13, 2021) — At least three people were hurt in a police pursuit crash on Sunset Boulevard on Tuesday.
 
It began before 2:25 a.m. when patrol officers saw a green Dodge Challenger on Gower Street and Afton Place. They believed the driver was intoxicated, and they tried to pull him over. However, the suspect did not want to stop. The driver then led authorities on a police chase that lasted for around two minutes.
 
The speeding Challenger crashed into at least two vehicles on Sunset Boulevard and Van Ness Avenue. According to the police, the suspect and the passenger didn’t want to get out of the car for around 40 minutes. The primary suspect taunted the officers. Then he made obscene gestures while frantically looking for something in the car.
 
Paramedics responded to the scene and gave treatment to the two innocent victims of the other vehicles.
 
Meanwhile, the suspect was still combative toward LAPD officers and paramedics, even though he was already injured.
