Police Pursuit on 210 Freeway at Beech Avenue Leaves One Dead

FONTANA, CA (January 20, 2021) – A man died after a police pursuit Wednesday afternoon in Fontana, authorities said.
The incident happened around 12:05 p.m. on 210 Freeway at Beech Avenue. Officers began pursuing a vehicle in connection with a criminal investigation. The chase went through Fontana, Rialto and Rancho Cucamonga.
Shortly after, the suspect made an exit from the 210 Freeway at Beech Avenue and failed to stop for a stop sign. As a result, the suspect’s vehicle collided with another car that was not involved in the chase.
Sadly, a male occupant in the second vehicle died at the scene. Soon after, authorities identified him as 69-year-old Thomas Ray Felix of Fontana.
A second occupant and the suspect were transported to hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Officers closed Beech Avenue while they examined the scene.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and Major Accident Investigation Team are investigating the incident. However, anyone with additional details should contact police.
