Rollover Accident on Dana Landing Road in San Diego Kills 16-Year-Old Girl

SAN DIEGO, CA (March 28, 2021) – A 16-year-old girl died Friday afternoon after a rollover accident at Dana Landing Road and Ingraham Street.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the accident happened around 4:45 p.m., March 26, near SeaWorld San Diego.

The victim was a front-seat passenger in a 2008 Ford Fusion, driven by another 16-year-old. They were driving southbound on the first lane of Ingraham Street when the driver noticed traffic was coming to a stop ahead and merged into the second lane.

The Fusion then crashed into a 2016 Ford Escape, driven by a 26-year-old woman. That vehicle rear-ended a 2015 Nissan Sentra, driven by a 23-year-old man.

The impact of the crash caused the Fusion to flip onto its roof, police said. The passenger sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The driver was unharmed.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Escape complained of pain to her face and nose.

No other injuries were reported.

Police did not rule out intoxication as a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.

We extend our deepest condolences to the grieving family and friends of the victim.
