Ted Meeker Charged with Theft, Crashing Rideshare Vehicle near Tahquitz Canyon Way and Farrell Drive
PALM SPRINGS, CA (September 11, 2024) — Ted Meeker faces several charges after stealing and crashing a Rideshare car near Tahquitz Canyon Way and Farrell Drive.
According to the Palm Springs Police Department, 31-year-old Ted Arnold Meeker booked a ride-hailing service around 4:17 p.m. Monday in Downtown Palm Springs. Subsequently, the San Francisco man aggressively kicked the seat in front of him and assaulted the driver. From there, the driver exited the vehicle following some unclear struggle and Meeker took off, stealing the car.
At this time, officers were informed of the incident. Sometime after, Palm Springs Police found Meeker veering out of control at Tahquitz Canyon Way and Farrell Drive and struck a parked vehicle in a construction area.
After attempting to flee the scene, Meeker was detained by police and booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio, held on $10,000 bail.
At this time, he faces several charges including vehicle theft, battery, resisting arrest, hit-and-run and DUI.
