Golf Cart Driver Dies after Hit by Vehicle on Innovation Way at Phantom West

 
VICTORVILLE, CA (April 13, 2021) – Ted Hoots was struck and killed by a vehicle Sunday evening in Victorville.
 
The accident happened around 9:26 p.m. on April 11, at Innovation Way and Phantom West. According to an initial report, the 67-year-old Adelanto man was driving a golf cart southbound on Phantom West when a vehicle struck the golf cart from the behind.
 
As a result, Hoots suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
It is unknown if the driver of the vehicle that struck Hoots stayed at the site after the crash. Officials also did not indicate if speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
 
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the accident.
