Coroner Identifies Three Killed in Shafter Crash on Central Valley Highway

 
SHAFTER, CA (April 28, 2021) – The coroner’s office identified the three people who died in a traffic accident Tuesday afternoon in Shafter.
 
They were 79-year-old Shafter resident Suzette Lean Dobbs, and 19 years olds Javier Mora Jr. and Ricardo Antonio Trujillo Acosta Jr., both from Wasco.
 
According to Shafter police, the crash happened around 4:42 p.m. on Central Valley Highway at Fresno Avenue. A 2009 BMW 328i was traveling south on Central Valley Highway when it collided with a Chrysler Aspen heading west on Fresno Avenue.
 
As a result, both drivers were taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead. A passenger died at the scene. Mora was driving one of the vehicles and Acosta was a passenger. Dobbs was the other driver.
 
At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved. An investigation is ongoing.
