Sundae Howard Hurt, Joe de Reus Involved in Motorcycle Crash on Black Ranch Road near Highway 299

 
BURNEY, CA (June 21, 2021)Sundae Howard was injured in a motorcycle accident on Black Ranch Road near Highway 299 Friday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, “Joe” de Reus, identified by Howard, was operating the Harley-Davidson-style motorcycle around 4:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, the motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve in the road, veered off the pavement and crashed into an oak tree. Due to the crash, both de Reus and 40-year-old Howard were ejected off the bike.
 
Shortly after, paramedics found the Burney woman on the road with severe injuries, including a broken leg. Yet to escalate her treatment, paramedics airlifted her to Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
 
As for de Reus, police believe he had left the scene prior to the arrival of some authorities so he can meet her at the hospital. At this point, reports have neither confirmed if he had suffered any injuries nor the ultimate cause of the crash.
