USC Student Dies after Struck by Racing Car near Jefferson Boulevard in Exposition Park

 
EXPOSITION PARK, CA (December 13, 2021) – A USC student was killed in a pedestrian accident near Jefferson Boulevard and Harvard Boulevard on Saturday afternoon.
 
The accident happened on December 11 in the Exposition area of Los Angeles. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the student was crossing in a crosswalk when a Dodge Challenger Hellcat struck him.
 
The Dodge was racing with other vehicles when the accident occurred, police said.
 
The victim, believed to be between 17 and 18 years old, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a foreign student from Iran.
 
The drivers of the Dodge and the other vehicle, an Infiniti, were detained and their cars are in custody. Police believe they may be a part of a local car club.
 
An investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
