Livermore High School Student Hunter Diemert Dies in Livermore Car Accident, 5 Other Classmates Injured

 
LIVERMORE, CA (September 2, 2021) – A student from Livermore High School died and five other classmates sustained injuries in a car accident on Del Valle Road on August 27.
 
Police identified the victim as 15-year-old Hunter Diemert of Livermore.
 
The accident happened around 11:30 p.m. According to the Alameda County Fire Department, Diemert died when the Chevrolet pickup truck he was riding in crashed down an embankment 200 feet beneath Del Valle Road.
 
Officials airlifted two people to area hospitals and four others via ambulances to trauma centers. However, one person became trapped in a vehicle and had to be extricated after crews stabilized the car. According to police, multiple people were ejected from the car and it is unclear whether seatbelts were in use.
 
All six involved were students of Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District.
 
A GoFundMe account has been set up, raising money for Diemert’s family.
 
One of the critically injured teen’s name is Sal Barbalinardo, according to the Tri Valley Wrestling Club, which said that he and Diemert were members.
 
Another GoFundMe account said that William Fuller was in an intensive care unit after the crash.
 
The cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
