Spectator Dies in Drag Race Crash on Kerns Street

 
OTAY MESA, CA (November 1, 2021) — A spectator died in a drag race accident on Kern Street near Sarnen Street Sunday morning.
 
According to police, the fatal incident happened around 6:00 a.m. During a drag race event between two drivers, a driver in a customized Mustang car lost control and drove off the sidewalk, striking a male bystander watching the race.
 
As a result, the unidentified victim suffered fatal injuries at the scene. At this time, police have made no arrests and no information on the victim’s name. However, the San Diego Police Department will be handling the investigation to determine the outstanding details.
