Woman Dies after Hit by Truck while Sleeping in Bakersfield Jefferson Park

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 13, 2022) – A sleeping woman was hit and killed at Jefferson Park in East Bakersfield on Tuesday morning.
 
Around 6:47 a.m. on July 12 the Bakersfield Police officers responded to Jefferson Park for medical aid to someone down. When they arrived, they found the 57-year-old victim dead at the scene.
 
The unidentified woman was a transient.
 
Officers later determined that the woman was sleeping in the middle of the park when an unidentified motorist driving a truck ran her over and fled the scene.
 
The suspects are identified as a white male driver and white female passenger. The suspect vehicle is identified as a white mid 2000s Ford F150.
