Shirley Joy Killed, Richard Joy, Olivia Fragiacomo and Vidal Escudero Injured in Two-Car Accident on Highway 70 at Grizzly Road

 
PORTOLA, CA (March 16, 2021) — Shirley Joy died in a two-car accident on Highway 70 at Grizzly Road Saturday afternoon.
 
According to reports, the fatal crash happened around 3:38 p.m.
 
Based on the evidence, officers determined that a 2016 Kia Sorento, driven by 87-year-old Richard Joy, began making a left turn onto Highway 70. However, the Kia drove into the path of a westbound 2014 Subaru Crosstrek.
 
Subsequently, Olivia Fragiacomo‘s Subaru struck the left-front of the Kia.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded to administer aid to the four victims. According to reports, paramedics transported Richard and his 85-year-old front-seat passenger, Shirley Joy, to Renown Medical Center in Reno. Tragically, Shirley Joy succumbed to her injuries a short time later.
 
Meanwhile, 18-year-old Fragiacomo and her 22-year-old passenger, C. Vidal Escudero, suffered minor wounds in the crash.
