Shelby Brady Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Las Positas Road [Santa Barbara, CA]

Woman Dies after Struck by Pickup Truck on Las Positas Road at Stanley Drive

 
SANTA BARBARA, CA (November 8, 2021) – Shelby Catherine Brady died in a pedestrian accident in Santa Barbara on Thursday night.
 
The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. on November 4 at the intersection of Las Positas Road and Stanley Drive. According to the Santa Barbara Police Department, Brady was several dozen feet north of Stanley Drive and began to cross the road from east to west. A large pickup truck traveling north on Las Positas Road then struck her.
 
After hitting the victim, the truck’s driver immediately pulled over and called 911.
 
When officers arrived, they found Brady lying in the roadway and was unresponsive. They performed CPR until paramedics arrived, but emergency responders were unable to revive her.
 
Brady was pronounced dead at the scene. She was a 49-year-old Santa Barbara resident.
 
Police said DUI does not seem to be a factor in the crash. They urged witnesses of the crash to call them at 805-897-3719.
