Shane Ramirez Dies after Struck by Car on Highway 138 near 121st Street East

 
PALMDALE, CA (June 10, 2021) – Shane Ramirez was killed in a pedestrian accident in Palmdale Monday evening, June 7.
 
The accident happened around 9:35 p.m. on Highway 138, just west of 121st Street East. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 34-year-old pedestrian of Pearblossom was walking across the highway amid poor lighting conditions when a 2008 Saturn Aura struck him.
 
As a result, Ramirez suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
The driver of the Aura, 22-year-old Jerry Matthew Tate of Palmdale, remained on scene and was questioned and then released, the CHP reported.
 
The involvement of alcohol and/or drugs for Tate is not suspected to be a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
