Man Dies after Suspected DUI Driver Runs Through Red Light and Crashes into His Car in Orange

 
ORANGE, CA (May 23, 2022) – 59-year-old Shane Lowe of Newport Beach was killed in a suspected DUI accident in Orange on Friday evening, May 20.
 
The accident happened around 10:30 p.m. at Tustin Street and Taft Avenue. According to the Orange Police Department, a Porsche entered the intersection to turn south on Tustin when a Kia Sol going north on Tustin ran a red light and the two vehicles collided.
 
As a result of the crash, Lowe – who was driving the Porsche – died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics rushed the man driving the Kia to a hospital in critical condition.
 
Police said drugs are suspected to be a factor for the driver of the Kia. They asked anyone with further information about the crash to call the Orange Police Department at 714-744-7444.
