Multiple People Injured in Head-On Accident on Highway 41 in Atascadero

 
ATASCADERO, CA (September 13, 2021) – Multiple people sustained injuries in a head-on accident on Highway 41, Sunday morning.
 
According to the Atascadero Police Department, the incident happened on September 5, at about 10:18 a.m. The California Highway Patrol received reports about a silver Subaru that intentionally entered the opposing lane.
 
A short time later, the Subaru collided with two vehicles in the 13500 block of Highway 41.
 
Emergency crews later transported the Subaru driver to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. Authorities did not release the name and age of the driver.
 
Meanwhile, several other people also sustained injuries. The victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment and evaluation.
 
As per reports, the incident will be investigated as an assault with a deadly weapon case. Officers ask witnesses to call Investigations Sergeant Jeff Wilshusen at (805) 461-5051.
