WINTERHAVEN, CA (August 6, 2022) – At least seven people suffered injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on 8 Freeway on August 4.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred shortly after 10:30 AM.
 
Based on reports, a semi-truck was traveling on the freeway when it hit one from behind. Subsequently, the impact sent the car to hit another vehicle in front of it.
 
As a result, four people in one of the vehicles and three people in another sustained injuries in the incident. Immediately, paramedics transported the victims to Yuma Regional Medical Center with various degrees of injuries.
 
In addition, the pile-up closed one eastbound lane of the freeway while rescue and clearing operations took place in the area.
