Selina Granados and John Canavan Hurt after their Motorcycles Crashed on Highway 49

 
COULTERVILLE, CA (April 27, 2021) — Two motorcyclists namely Selina Granados and John Canavan were hurt in a crash on Monday, April 26.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at around 2:10 p.m. on Highway 49 north of Schilling Road.
 
Ganados, a 37-year-old Merced resident, rode a 2019 Honda street bike north on Highway 49. At the same time, Canavan, who is a 59-year-old Cool resident in El Dorado County, rode a 2018 dual-sport BMW motorcycle south. They both traveled at around 30 to 35 miles per hour as they approached each other.
 
As Granados approached a curve in the road, she allowed her motorcycle to drift over the double-yellow lines. She drifted right into the path of Canavan’s motorcycle. The motorcyclists then hit each other head-on. The impact ejected both off their motorbikes into the road.
 
Medics airlifted Granados to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. They also airlifted Canavan to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
 
Both motorcyclists wore their helmets. Alcohol and drugs did not play a role in the incident.
