DUI Driver Involved in Major Crash on Highway 108 in Jamestown

 
JAMESTOWN, CA (May 15, 2021) – Officers identified Scott Mahoney as the victim who sustained major injuries in a DUI crash on Highway 108 on May 11.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Mill Villa Road.
 
Based on a report, 56-year-old Scott Mahoney of Jamestown was driving a Dodge Charger northbound on Mill Villa at the time of the crash. At the same time, 60-year-old Anthony Forret of Murphys was eastbound in a 2017 Peter Built truck. Due to unknown reasons, Mahoney failed to stop at the posted stop sign. Subsequently, he crashed directly into the side of the truck.
 
As a result, Mahoney sustained major injuries in the incident. Crews airlifted him to Memorial Medical Center for treatment. Forret was not hurt in the crash.
 
In the end, officers determined that Scott Mahoney was driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage at the time of the accident.
