Savaii Seau Killed in San Diego Crash with Dump Truck on Los Coches Road

 
LAKESIDE, CA (February 2, 2022) — A man died in an accident with a dump truck on Los Coches Road near Lakeview Road on Tuesday.
 
The San Diego County Medical Examiner identified the fatal victim as 56-year-old Savaii Seau of El Cajon. Seau is the older brother of San Diego Chargers and USC legend Junior Seau.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 2:10 p.m. For unknown reasons, Seau traveled north on Los Coches Road near Lakeview Road. Soon after, his 2005 Audi A6 drifted into the path of a southbound Helix Water District dump truck being driven by a 60-year-old San Diego man.
 
Paramedics arrived and located Seau seriously injured. However, Seau – who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time – died at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego.
 
Officials brought his 42-year-old female passenger and the trucker to hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
 
At this time, the primary cause of this accident requires additional investigation. However, anyone with information should contact the authorities.
