Sarah Villar Dead, Tayler Schmitt Hospitalized, Manuel Vazquez Detained in DUI Pedestrian Crash in Hollister

 
HOLLISTER, CA (June 23, 2021)Sarah Villar died in a DUI pedestrian accident on Sunnyslope Lane near Cerra Vista Drive Sunday evening.
 
According to the Hollister Police Department, the crash happened around 6:00 pm. For DUI-related reasons, 23-year-old Manuel Martinez Vazquez drove across the two-lane road and struck 32-year-old Villar and her 33-year-old fiancé Tayler Schmitt. Per reports, the couple had just left their home to walk their dog on the sidewalk.
 
Shortly after, First Responders arrived to save Villar’s life. However, attempts fell short and Villar died moments later. Meanwhile, her fiancé and their dog survived the crash with minor injuries.
 
Following the investigation, officers learned that DUI played a role and arrested Vazquez.
