Passenger Sandra Pantages Dies in Gilroy Head-On Car Accident

 
GILROY, CA (August 7, 2021) — A woman was killed in a head-on accident on Highway 152 near Lovers Lane Saturday, July 31.
 
The victim was identified Monday by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office as 60-year-old San Jose resident Sandra Pantages.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle crash happened around 11:15 a.m. For unknown reasons, a driver in a 2015 Chrysler 200 drifted across the double yellow lines from the westbound lanes to the eastbound lanes. As a result, the Chrysler crashed head-on with an eastbound 2009 Honda Fit.
 
Pantages — a passenger of the Honda — died in the accident.
 
Both drivers suffered injuries. However, the driver of the Honda was taken to hospital for treatment.
 
At this time, authorities have ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the accident. Although, if anyone has more information, please contact the CHP.
