Sandra Conway and Andrew Czarny Killed in Semi Truck Accident on Old River Road [Bakersfield, CA]

Accident Involving Semi Truck at Herring and Old River Roads Leaves 2 People Dead

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 27, 2022) – Sandra Gayle Conway and Andrew John Czarny died in a semi truck accident south of Bakersfield, early Friday morning.
 
The accident happened just after 4:00 a.m. on February 25, in the area of Old River Road and Herring Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the semi truck was traveling southbound on Old River Road. At the same time, Czarny was driving a black sedan with two passengers and was heading westbound on Herring Road.
 
The black sedan came through a stop sign, where the semi-truck slammed into it. The impact caused the sedan to flip over on the shoulder of the freeway.
 
When officers arrived, they found two people in the sedan suffering from fatal injuries.
 
Czarny, a 35-year-old Riverside resident, and Conway, 37 years old from Moreno Valley, both died at the scene.
 
The third occupant sustained major injuries. Paramedics took the patient to a local hospital.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the semi truck was unharmed.
