Sandra Andrade Trapped in Car Accident on West Market Street in Salinas

 
SALINAS, CA (August 8, 2021) – Officers identified Sandra Andrade as the driver who suffered serious injuries in a DUI accident in the 700 block of West Market Street on August 4.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Third Street at approximately 3:32 AM.
 
Based on reports, a 2012 Jeep Liberty skimmed a power pole before slamming into a second pole. Subsequently, officers arrived at the scene and found the front end of the vehicle wrapped around a pole.
 
As a result, the crash trapped the driver inside the vehicle. Bystanders removed the passenger, a 21-year-old man, from the Jeep. However, the driver’s legs were pinned between the seat and the dashboard, and was stuck in the vehicle. Officials identified her as Sandra Vega Andrade, 21. Then, paramedics transported her and her passenger to Natividad Medical Center for treatment.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
