Ruth Rancano, Kellie Content Dead; Eliseo Zapien, Natalie Camacho Injured in Riverbank Car Crash

 
RIVERBANK, CA (March 14, 2022) — Ruth Rancano and Kellie Content died in a multi-car accident on Patterson Road at Bentley Road on Saturday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-vehicle crash happened around 2:25 p.m. For unknown reasons, 56-year-old Rancano failed to stop at the stop sign on Bentley Road. Subsequently, her northbound 2007 Honda collided with an eastbound 2018 Chevrolet, driven by 45-year-old Eliseo Zapien.
 
As a result of the impact, both vehicles continued northeast out of control and struck a westbound 2017 Volkswagen. While the Volkswagen overturned, the other two cars came to a rest off the road.
 
In the wake of the crash, Rancano and Content — the 31-year-old driver of the Volkswagen — died from their injuries. Meanwhile, paramedics brought Zapien and 31-year-old Natalie Camacho — a Volkswagen passenger — to Memorial Medical Center.
 
At this time, investigators have not confirmed if DUI played a factor. However, an ongoing investigation should determine the details.
