Driver Anthony Rollins, Passenger Ruby Edwards Die in Berkeley Car Accident
BERKELEY, CA (May 18, 2021) – Police identified the two people who died in a car accident on May 11 as 57-year-old Ruby Jean Edwards and 64-year-old Anthony Keith Rollins.
A coroner’s office representative said they did not have residences for the two and did not know their relationship.
The two died Tuesday after the Toyota they were in collided with an Audi SUV in the 2200 block of Marin Avenue about 1:40 p.m. According to Berkeley police, Rollins was driving the car and Edwards was a passenger.
Edwards died at the scene and Rollins died later at a hospital.
A 43-years-old Kensington woman driving the Audi that was struck from behind was hospitalized with moderate injuries. Her 3-year-old daughter who was a passenger sustained no visible injuries. However, she was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
The collision is still under investigation by Berkeley police.
Police are still investigating the accident.
