Roland Delao Dies after Vehicle Plunges off Mountain Slope on Kana Dume Road in Malibu

 
MALIBU, CA (April 17, 2022) – Authorities identified 56-year-old Roland Delao of North Hollywood as the driver killed in a car crash on Kana Dume Road on Thursday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on April 14 at about 6:00 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a southbound white 2005 Chevrolet drifted into the northbound lanes.
 
Then, the Chevy left the roadway, entered the parking lot of a lookout area, and crashed into a chain-link fence. As per reports, the vehicle plunged approximately 250 feet down a steep mountainside.
 
Emergency responders pronounced Delao dead at the scene.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Investigators ask witnesses or anyone with information to call the CHP West Valley office at (818) 888-0980.
